First of all, we pack our shipments very well using bubble wrap and heavy duty cardboard boxes. We are proud that we have very few damage claims. Depending on weight and shipping location we use either UPS or USPS for all shipments.
Generally speaking, lighter (residential) items (under 2.5lbs) and international shipments go via USPS Priority Mail and heavier items (over 2.5lbs) and commercial deliveries go via UPS. We prefer to use UPS because usually the delivery gets there faster, you can track your shipment, and it's insured. All domestic USPS shipments go with delivery confirmation.
$5 Shipping of $75 applies only to U.S. Lower 48 States. Other locations are calculated based on shippers calculated shipping rates.
International shipments are shipped insured. However, that doesn't really mean much in our experience. To improve the odds of a claim being paid, it's imperative that you inspect the merchandise when you pick it up at your local post office to ensure that it is not damaged. If it is, you must file a claim immediately, otherwise it is unlikely that the insurance claim will be paid by the USPS.
