Blacksmith Coffee at the Kansas Sampler Festival

It’s a great honor to have the opportunity to be featured as a unique Kansas business in the Mercantile Tent at the Kansas Sampler Festival this year. It’s almost midnight and I’m about ready to finish loading the van for the early morning drive to Concordia for this year’s festivities.simplykansas

Coincidentally, Blacksmith Coffee Roastery was selected for membership in the Kansas Department of Commerce’s Simply Kansas program. You’ll be seeing the Simply Kansas stickers on your coffee bags soon! It’s all about promoting Kansas destinations and products for the world to see what a great state Kansas is and what great coffee Blacksmith Coffee is!

If you don’t have anything else to do this weekend, or you don’t plan to be at the Millfest in Lindsborg, come up to Concordia. It’s only an hour and a half from Lindsborg! I’m going to try to roast some coffee in the Mercantile Tent and see if we can’t give Concordia the smell of fresh roasted coffee.

There is much more to come in the next couple weeks. I’m going to do a soft-launch of the website, so if you’re reading this post in your email, you can click here to go check out the site. It’s far from done, and there are many pages I haven’t finished yet, but I’d love to get your feedback on the general look and feel……and any bugs or glitches you notice.

Have a great weekend!

    Hi Phil,
I’m thrilled you’re liking the Guatemala Antigua! Thanks for your purchase! If I didn’t mention it at the Sampler Festival, the Guatemala is my favorite. Hopefully it won’t won’t be long and you’ll be able to purchase Blacksmith Coffee in Frankfort, or nearby at least. Let me know if you have any suggestions on local grocers you’d recommend contacting.
    Thanks again, Phil!
    Bottoms Up!

    Thanks Mary!
It was a great weekend in Concordia… wind or rain and cool temps made for perfect coffee drinking weather! Hopefully next year’s Sampler Festival in Leavenworth will receive equally favorable weather. Giving away free coffee at a festival is kind of like juggling flaming sticks while riding a unicycle across a tightrope. Of course, you’ll find out for yourself when you launch your free coffee bar at High Plains Camping this week!

(Side Note: If anyone reading this has an RV, Camper or Tent, you need to stop at High Plains Camping out on I-70 near Oakley in Western Kansas. This is one of the top 21 campgrounds in the country…..right here in Kansas!) Great job, Mary!
