Maui Melemele
A delicious fine natural-processed coffee from Hawaii, our Maui Melemele (meaning yellow in Hawaiian) is medium-bodied with a subtle spiciness that's evident in the cup. Unlike virtually all other Hawaiian coffee varieties, which feature a red coffee cherry common to most arabicas, the cherry of this rare arabica is ripe when it's bright yellow....or melemele!
This exceptional coffee from Maui is mild, yet sweet and changes complexion with a variety of brewing methods. It's naturally lower in acidity, yet not lacking in body. In fact, even cold brewed, the subtle fruitiness still comes through.
There is something unique about the way this coffee morphs with each brewing method. I mean, more than most coffees. I am convinced that if you brewed it 5 different ways, you would be hard pressed to think it wasn't 5 totally different coffees. It's really special that way!
Grown on the The Ka‘anapali Estate, in rich volcanic soil the coffee is dry processed after harvesting, which means that the fruit is allowed to dry on the bean before it is removed. This imparts more of the fruit's flavor into the bean and adds to the complexity of the extracted brew in the cup.

It is an outstanding coffee! If you think the best coffees grown in Hawaii are grown in Kona on the big island, this Maui grown coffee will have you rethinking that whole assumption!
Of course, being grown in the USA means it's a fairly traded coffee as all laborers are paid a fare wage and enjoy safe, state and federally monitored working conditions.
