As fans of the AeroPress, we've been waiting with eager anticipation for the reusable stainless steel filter disk from the makers of the KONE metal pourover filter. Well the wait is over and the results are in.....
The AeroPress® DISK coffee filter makes AMAZING coffee!
The reason for our enthusiasm is stems from the very first cup we brewed. We were tasting flavors and dimensions in our Papua-New Guinea FT Organic that we had never tasted before in any other brewer!
The AeroPress® is already a great brewer to begin with, but something about the way the DISK allows oils and polyphenals that are normally captured in the paper filter to make it into your cup, combined with the unique extraction design of the AeroPress®, makes it a world class combination!

Our Upside Down AeroPress DISK Brew Method
COFFEE: 17 grams of great coffee
GRIND: Same or slightly finer than medium drip.
WATER: 200-205 degrees F
TIME: 35 second infusion; 25 second press
Brew technique:
- Boil a kettle of fresh, clean water
- Insert on AeroPress® to the #4 and turn upside down.
- Pour boiling water in AeroPress® to preheat cylinder
- Weigh out 17 grams of your favorite coffee and grind to a medium grind
- Dump out hot water you just filled AeroPress® with
- Return AeroPress® to upside down position and pour ground coffee into cylinder
- Fill AeroPress® with just-off-of-boiling water (200-205 F)
- Set timer for 35 seconds
- Depress any "blooming" grounds back into water to ensure complete infusion
- When timer beeps attach cap with filter inserted (wetting filter first will make it stick to the cap better) and place AeroPress® on your favorite mug (We recommend you preheat your mug with hot water too)
- Slowly press plunger until you hear the "whooshing" sound.
- Remove cap and discard grounds
- Drink and Enjoy! If coffee is too strong, you can dilute it with hot water from your kettle to taste!
